PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is not the same thing as ordinary gold plating. The process is physical not chemical. This results in a high-quality coating that is resistant to wear, scratches and heat, for example. The coating is also harmless to the human body and environmentally friendly. The PVD coating method gives the 24 carat gold surface a much longer service life.
